Kvell is a Yiddish word, meaning to swell with pride or happiness from a loved one's blossoming. 

We play a variety of klezmer music, music that originated with 19th-century Eastern European Jewish wedding bands and blossomed further in the early 20th-century Jewish immigrant communities of eastern North America . 

We love performing tunes from the recently rediscovered archive of klezmer music, created in now-vanished Ukrainian Jewish communities, that were found in the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine in Kyiv and digitally transcribed by a global network of musicians. 

Our current lineup is: Julia Herzog (flute), Sammy Herzog (violin), Laura Rosenberg (concertina), Lucy Nerenberg (mandolin), Nejama Ferstman (guitar), and Richard Kool (bass). However, our lineup may vary depending on availability of band members for a given performance.
